The Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is a flirtatious wine, with aromas of apricots, passion fruit, grapefruit and peaches followed by a glorious spectrum of vivacious flavours. This is a very attractive wine that has a lingering finish, its concentrated flavours standing up to an oak regimen that gives it richness and depth. In all, a spectacular, well-crafted white with wonderful balance. asianpalate.com
90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sémillon and 5% Sauvigon Gris has gone into a clean, light-gold, citrus white of great character. Lemon and pineapple, faint bitter almond and dried leaves lie dormant.
Exuberant expression of citrus fruits, spicy and quite exotic, full and fleshy with the acidity and minerality adding depth and structure, probably the best SHL white, combining as usual robustness and finesse. Drink 2013-20. Steven Spurrier, decanter.com
About the producer

Ch. Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the leading lights of Pessac-Léognan today – all thanks to Daniel and Florence Cathiard, who took over the property in 1990 and have since transformed the estate, converting to biodynamics and crafting wines of increasing finesse.
