Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2007 Bordeaux tasting. The 2007 La Grave a Pomerol slightly exceeded my expectations. There is a slight aloofness on the nose at first, but with aeration this gradually unfolds to reveal pleasant, black truffle and smoke-tinged black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with leafy black fruit, quite herbaceous in style but in a positive sense, since it is supported by freshness and vitality. This is a perfectly decent early-drinking Pomerol. Tasted March 2015.

Relatively pale crimson. Pale rim. Heady and lively but very light with some Cabernet Franc herbaceousness in evidence. Pomerol Lite? Luncheon claret? Dry finish. (JR)
Aromas of plums, black cherries, cedar, herbs, and earth jump from the glass of this dark ruby-colored 2007. Medium-bodied, very aromatic, and evolved, it is best consumed over the next 3-4 years.
Bright ruby-red. Black plum and licorice aromas lifted by a peppery topnote. Supple and fine-grained; not complex but offers a captivating sweetness to its black fruit flavors. No shortage of personality here. Finishes with decent structure and good length. Nicely balanced Pomerol.
