Mid ruby. Gamey with lots of development. Not much tannin. Not singing. Lighter than most Pomerols. (JR)

Owned by the firm of Jean-Pierre Moueix, the more shallow soils of this vineyard in Pomerol tend to produce a more fruit-driven, lighter style of wine meant to be drunk in its first 10-15 years. The fully mature 2005 has a dark plum/garnet color and displays notes of red and black cherries and licorice as well as strawberries and earth. This medium-bodied, soft, easygoing Pomerol should be drunk over the next 5-7 years.

Pale. Sandy, savoury, meaty. Velvety texture with fine tannins. Very opulent. But not for the long term. (JR)
