2000 La Grave a Pomerol

Tasting Notes
Wonderful aromas of freshly cut flowers, raspberries and blackberries. Full-bodied, with super refined tannins and a long, caressing finish. All in finesse. This is one I always like. Best after 2010. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2003

Atypically powerful, the concentrated, medium to full-bodied 2000 displays more tannin and structure than usual as well as abundant concentration and sweet black cherry fruit. It is more structured and backward than the gorgeous 1998 (still the finest La Grave a Pomerol I have ever tasted, and a candidate to be called a "petit Petrus"). The 2000 should prove to be uncommonly long-lived by the standards of this estate. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2017. Wine Advocate.April, 2003
