Tasting notes
The second wine of third growth Ch d'Issan. Available 15 July. Flattering, scented and so true to Margaux! Gentle and polished. Such presence in the mouth. Worth waiting for. GV (JR)

A gorgeous second wine, the 2012 Blason d'Issan is beautifully sexy, soft, and creamy textured, with a dense purple color and attractive blueberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with some licorice and camphor. It is stunning, lush, sexy and very, very forward, an ideal second wine that reflects its appellation of origin but delivers gorgeous, even luxurious fruit levels. Drink it over the next decade.
Very dark crimson. 40% Merlot – young vines. Minerally almost metallic nose. Very sweet start and easy to like. 35% new oak. Racy and fresh. Though there is something just a little strange on the nose. Lovely texture and admirable freshness. Much fresher than most Margaux. (JR)
