The 2010 Barolo Parussi hits its stride with an amazing bouquet that is as generous as it is complex and compelling. The wine boasts a dark ruby color with delicate amber highlights and shows a deep level of color saturation and richness. Its perfumes are redolent of sweet cherry, black fruit, dark licorice, cigar ash and wet earth. There’s a bright floral note of pressed red rose that lifts delicately as the wine warms in the glass. The meeting of the wine’s acidic component and its tannic firmness is absolutely seamless. Drink: 2017-2030. Importer: Vineyard Brands, www.vineyardbrands.com

Freshly cut flowers, red berries, cinnamon and mint meld together in the 2010 Barolo Parussi. It's interesting to taste the Parussi next to the other wines in the range, as it is the only wine here made from Castiglione Falletto fruit. The 2010 has lovely aromatic complexity but it remains a bit compact and essentially medium in body.

Bright, full red. Pungent, nuanced aromas and flavors of blueberry, cranberry, red licorice, star anise and white pepper, complicated by wild herbs. Hugely ripe and rich, delivering outstanding fullness for 2010 but with the juiciness and verve of the vintage in spades. Really wonderfully deep and sweet, conveying an impression of chewy extract. Finishes with spreading tannins and outstanding sappy sweetness. Solid yet light on its feet in the way of a top grand cru Burgundy.
