Tasting notes
Dark ruby. Potent aromas of berry and cherry skin, minerals and black olive, plus a hint of cracked pepper. Racy, finely etched raspberry and bitter cherry gain flesh with air and take on a sweet violet pastille quality. This juicy, refreshing and nicely balanced wine finishes with very good lift and persistent minerality.

Medium to full-bodied, ripe, fresh, elegant, and powerful, with pepper, tapenade, cassis, and olive characteristics dominating its explosive, aromatic nose, the dark ruby/purple-tinged, medium to full-bodied 2007 Cote Rotie is extraordinarily pungent aromatically. That characteristic will no doubt be controversial, and consumers will either love it or leave it. (Not yet released) Importer: Vintage ‘59, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 966-9218
Inky ruby. Sexy aromas of Asian spices, blackberry, graphite and cracked pepper. Silky in texture, with medium-bodied dark berry and cherry flavors and a kick of black pepper. Turns spicier on the focused, persistent finish.
