Tasting notes
Deep red. Fresh red berry and cherry scents are complicated by fresh violet and graphite. Mineral-laced red fruit flavors offer very good focus and finishing snap, leaving a sweet cherry preserve quality behind. Tardieu says that this should be held, even though it's elegant already.

Dark red. Intensely floral aromas of red berries and cherry pit. Vibrant and racy, with crisp redcurrant and strawberry flavors, tangy mineral notes and a subtle suggestion of mocha. Finishes vibrant and energetic, with excellent precision and length.
All Syrah from two sources incorporating La Landonne, Chavaroche, Vaillière and Moulin. Sample a little reduced but very fine and seductive – in fact wonderfully seductive undertow of fruit. Fantastic texture – truly Côte Rôtie rather than oaked north Rhône Syrah. Juicy and gorgeous! Not heavy, but dancing and brilliant. Great harmony – SUCH a contrast to the thick Guy Louis red! (JR)
