Score 88/100 · Drink 2000-2015, Robert Parker, Jan 1997
The 1992 Cote Rotie, while structured and tannic, does possess excellent concentration, as well as a full-bodied, powerful style. The color is deep, and the wine is unmistakably an intense Syrah with plenty of licorice, smoky cassis fruit, and herbs vying for the taster's attention. The finish is long and tannic, but there is plenty of underlying sweet, jammy fruit and glycerin. A sleeper in this underrated vintage, it should be cellared until the end of the century and drunk over the following 10-15 years. Last tasted 9/95.
