This property sits on the southern end of the Médoc and is the magnificent estate of the Fayat family. They have produced a very solid Bordeaux for a number of years. There is no doubt a good dosage of Merlot in this wine, given its juicy blackcurrant fruit, deep ruby/purple color and spice. It is supple, round, not terribly complex or that deep, but a competent example of 2012 to drink over the next 7-10 years.
Meaty nose with a hint of boiled sweets. Dark cherry fruit. Medium tannic grip, good persistence and concentration. No bitterness, and the finish is very impressive, and certainly above most of its peers. (RH)
