Tasting Notes
Smells and tastes terrific, turning a bit tannic and tough on the finish, showing rich, ripe plum, prune and currant aromas and the same character when it hits the palate. But the finish clamps down with sharp tannins that will need until 1995 or so to soften. Tasted twice. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 1990

The 1987 is undoubtedly a success for the vintage. It exhibits good cassis richness, a solid texture, and above average concentration and depth. The compact finish contains noticeable tannins. Anticipated maturity: Now-2000. Last tasted, 12/93.| Wine Advocate.August, 1993
