Tasting notes
Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, owner of Caparzo and Altesino, remembers 1988 and 1990 as great vintages. Her Altesino 1990 Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli delivers thick concentration over tertiary aromas of rusty nail and dried fruit. The wine has an oxidative bouquet. However, you do feel the fruit richness on the palate. She says that this was a great year in the vineyard, although she considers winemaking to be less precise in 1990, given the many innovations and improvements made in the cellars since then.
