Score 88/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Good medium ruby. Smoky, roasted fruits and roasted herbs on the nose. Sweet, fat and large-scaled, but less nuanced and deep than the 2001. Currant, cherry and chocolate flavors are very ripe and sweet, with an almost syrupy roasted aspect. Lower in acidity than the 2001.
