Score 92/100 · Drink 2001-2007, Pierre Rovani, Feb 1999

Note: This wine is a special North Berkeley Imports bottling which is neither fined nor filtered. Crafted from a parcel located near the summit of Meursault Perrieres, Boyer-Martenot's 1997 Reserve bottling is first rate. A stone and gravel packed nose is followed by a tangy, highly-focused, and extremely rich flavor profile. Layer upon layer of minerals, rocks, and crisp pears can be found in this medium-to-full-bodied, silky-textured, extremely persistent wine. It should age remarkably well, particularly considering it was made in a vintage that generally produced wines that warrant early consumption. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2007. Importer: "Reserve" wines are Vezan/Hinkle selections for North Berkeley Imports, Berkeley, CA; tel (510) 848-8910.
