Classic Perrieres aromas of lemon cream, liquid stone and spices. Supple and creamy in the mouth, with the liquid stone and bright citrus flavors carrying through. Wonderfully pure and nuanced wine with impressive mouthcoating density and inner-palate energy. Really builds on the back end, leaving behind a flavor of crushed stone. Matrot says this wine reminds him of the 2000, which "dominated the cellar." The stats are very similar, he added. A perfect example of the classic character of 2004. This should reward six to eight years of cellaring.

(malo just finished) Smoky oak, lemon, minerals and wet stone on the nose. Big, rich and round but quite dry and light on its feet. The mid-palate shows a bit of youthfully bitter grapefruit flavor, but the wine finishes long and strongly mineral. Like the Charmes and Combettes, this boasts excellent ripeness for the year.
