Tasted at Château Rauzan-Gassies. The 2012 Croizet Bages, a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc, is a little light on the nose in the same fashion as the previous vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, pretty blackberry and raspberry fruit mixed with autumn leaves and a dash of white pepper, the finish a little conservative but with decent length. Tasted June 2015.

Tasted blind. Two bottles tasted, neither 100% clean. A wood thing? Very pinched on the finish. (JR)

Lovely meaty, savoury aroma, lightly spiced. More herbaceous on the palate but an interesting and attractive whole. Leafy and gentle tannic finish. Very fresh at the end. (JH)
