Vegetal, composty aromas are somewhat off-putting. In the mouth, some sweet cherry and currant fruit makes up for the barnyard aromatics. The finish is soft, pleasant, but decidedly mediocre. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
Quite green notes on the nose. Pretty easy and dilute. Amazingly ready! Easy-peasy, but a bit of a cop-out. (JR)
Purplish crimson. A certain sweet fragrance plus a slightly leafy undertow and some black pepper! Soft and gentle on the palate initially, rather seductive, with the ripe tannins very well hidden. A relative triumph for this property without being outstanding. Certainly the vintage's shortcomings have been well mastered though far from a blockbuster. (JR)
