The 1990 Nuits Saint Georges Village has a surprisingly youthful bouquet with black currant pastilles and iodine. Delicate but harmonious, though never powerful and quite Vosne-Romanee in style. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet, candied, rounded entry with a slightly mellifluous texture. It is not a complex village cru, but it offers abundant sweet fruit and comes across so effortless on the finish. Delightful. Tasted November 2013.

About the producer

Henri Jayer - producer
Henri Jayer

The wines of Henri Jayer (1922-2006) have mythical status in Burgundy. Coveted by many but tasted by just a precious few, they are some of the region’s rarest and most desirable – considered by some to be the pinnacle of what can be achieved with Pinot Noir.
