Tasting notes
The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Fiore opens with a nuanced blend of dusty violet flowers, wet stones and blackberries. Its silken texture soothes the senses as ripe wild berry fruits swirl throughout, offset by a core of brisk acidity, with hints of brown spice and dark chocolate emerging toward the close. It finishes with fantastic length and remains gently tannic, leaving a tinge of tangerine that pinches at the cheeks.

Very dark, impenetrable ruby with small orange rim. Very elegant, perfumed nose and velvety on the palate. Slow to open up. Very fine, persistent tannin. Oak tannins not yet absorbed. Completely integrated acidity. Already remarkably approachable. Seems for mid term only. (WS)
