Blackish crimson. A little skinny on the mid palate with a hint of wood shavings. A bit short on charm. Drying tannins on the finish. Light. A bit austere. (JR)

Score 90/100 · Drink 2010-2020, Robert Parker, Apr 2005
An undeniable sleeper of the vintage, this wine exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, a sweet nose of charcoal-infused black fruits, some gritty tannin, but enough concentration and stuffing to balance out the wine’s structure. It is a long-term effort and will require more patience than the supple-textured 2003, but there is considerable intensity and richness, and the wine is powerful and structured. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020+.
