The 2005 Raymond-Lafon, en magnum, has quite a tight, again, slightly petrolly bouquet with yellow plum and light candle wax aromas. The palate is beautifully balanced with a waxy textured opening. Fine acidity, orange rind and quince to the fore, more crepe suzette notes towards the lightly spiced finish. Very fine.

Some excitement and richness and tension. There’s a bit of structure to this even if it is not 110% clean on the nose. Possible iodine rot effect. (JR)

Au bout de deux ans, le vin a commencé à intégrer ses diverses composantes, mais ce n'est pas fini, il continuera de progresser, d'autant qu'il s'est un peu refermé.

Bright yellow-gold. Superripe but precise aromas of mirabelle, white nectarine and honey. Supersweet, deep and powerful, with a fat, honeyed character and terrific spicy persistence. A big boy but with lovely balance.
