Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Lynch Moussas offers crisp and light leafy black fruit on the nose, tinged with sandalwood and dried blood. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, not a complex Lynch Moussas, but it offers satisfying cedar and bell pepper notes on the finish. Fine, if a little short and missing the density that I feel the Castèja family have imbued their wine since investments were made. Tasted February 2017.
Deep bricky red. Pretty leafy on the nose with undergrowth too but almost green here, not just leafy. Dry and lean. (JH)
Fragrant mix of cedar, leafy cassis and something more meaty. Lively, leafy on the palate. The characteristics of the vintage are well handled for a fresh, fine-grained wine. (JH)
About the producer
This Fifth Growth Pauillac estate was purchased by the Castéja family – owners of Ch. Batailley – in 1919. In recent years they have been investing in the property, focused on driving quality forward.
