Score 93/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous
The 2009 Clos Vougeot is remarkably polished and fine in this vintage. It may ultimately prove to be better than the 2010 given that the heat of the year has tamed the tannins to such a significant degree. Layers of red fruit built to the explosive finish in this huge, powerful Clos Vougeot. The 2009 is rich, round and totally sensual and impeccably finessed. I underestimated this wine from barrel. Today, it is brilliant. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039. Apr 2012, www.robertparker.com
