Good medium red. Plum, smoked meat, roasted nuts, minerals and earth on the nose. Ripe, round and fine-grained, with a restrained sweetness to the black cherry, chocolate and licorice flavors. Broad, pliant wine with plenty of well-integrated acidity. Big dusty tannins spread out to saturate the palate on the long finish. This is actually easier to taste today than the Vignottes and Chaboeufs, which seem to be closing down in bottle.

Ruby-red color. Black raspberry, black cherry, dark chocolate and minerals on the nose and palate. A bit youthfully reduced but fine-grained, layered and suave. Finishes rich, chewy and long, with smooth, building tannins.
