Dark healthy ruby. Good freshness. Racy. A bit tight. But lots of richness overall. (JR)

From a blind tasting of more than 60 white burgundies submitted to British Airways for serving in their First Class cabin from August 2008 until August 2009 Smoky and attractively meaty. Firm but rather dry in the mid palate. More interesting on the nose than on the palate. Finishes a bit hard and bitter.  (JH)

The crushed rock-like terroir character of this tiny, but fabulous vineyard is unmistakable in the 2004 Clos St.-Martin. Sweet plum, cherry, and wet stone characteristics also emerge from this beauty that tastes like liquid rocks intermixed with red and black fruits. Medium-bodied with excellent definition, an elegant personality, and terrific purity as well as length, the 2004 is more forward than most vintages. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020.
