Tasting notes
The 2007 Rabaud-Promis has an understated nose and is quite fragrant with yellow flowers, jasmine, quince and orange sorbet. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, quince and apricot mixed with hints of ginger and orange rind. Very good depth towards the finish, this lingers in the mouth - a Sauternes with a skip in its step. Tasted at the 2007 horizontal in Sauternes.

Tasted single blind against its peers. The oft-overlooked Rabaud-Promis 2007 seems to get better and better every time I come back to it. The nose demands coaxing from the glass, however, peering deep inside there are some lovely pure tangerine and almost Muscat aromas developing. The palate is very well-balanced with good tension and spice. It is an energetic Sauternes with impressive weight and persistency on the botrytis-rich finish. It has length and great harmony, but given its upward curve, I would keep my bottles safely in the cellar. Tasted January 2011.
Pale yellow-gold. Ripe aromas of peach, coconut and vanillin oak. Juicy, spicy and pure in the mouth, with flavors of cherry-almond, marzipan and coconut and a whiff of banana. Finishes with very good length.
