Tasting Notes
Once again, first among firsts. The bouquet highlights the great concentration and sheer beauty and purity of the fruit. The wine has enormous length and opulence with exceptional succulence. Tropical, (especially pineapple) fruit aromas and flavours. All this enlivened with a lovely freshness - simply 'hors classe'. Decanter.com

Floral, lemon, apple and cream with dried pineapple and apricot. Full-bodied, but very focused and refined. It starts slowly and then, wham! It goes on and on. Spicy, dried fruits and spices. Full-bodied, medium-sweet. So long and exciting. It is very close to 2001. We will see. James Suckling, winespectator.com
Tasted at the property 12 months on from my last visit, my note for the Chateau d'Yquem 2005 is almost exactly the same. I feel that there is still just a little new oak to be resolved on the nose. But the palate is extremely well balanced, perhaps just a little nuttier than I remember from 12 months ago, with hints of white chocolate and creme brulee just appearing on the finish. This needs another decade, but it is a very serious Yquem in the making. Tasted April 2015. Jun 2016, www.robertparker.com
Very pale straw gold. Very thick, grainy texture like orangey buttery sauce, the sort of thing you'd serve with crêpes suzette. RS 130g/l, TA 4 g/l [ie 6.1 g/l as tartaric]. Nice delicacy too. Very long indeed though not really ready. Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com
