Tasting notes
Firm and sweet and polished. Lots of richness. Very flttering but not as dense as the Mazis. (JR)

A completely different nose of truffle, discreet earth plus red and dark berry fruit aromas that precedes the supple and seductive mineral-infused flavors that are linear and strikingly persistent. This is not quite as complex as the Mazis though there appears to be the underlying material present to allow this to develop with sufficient cellar time.
Good deep medium red. Captivating aromas of black raspberry, cherry, blueberry, smoke and pepper. Much more accessible and sweet than the Mazy, offering a silky texture and excellent concentration and balance. This fleshy, round, seamless wine finishes with broad tannins and lovely lingering perfume. Compared to this grand cru, the Estournelles seems a bit dry and tight. (ST)
