Von Schubert produced three sensational cuvees of Auslese. Although they are all backward, they vary in degrees of ripeness and concentration. The most concentrated of the trio is the 1992 Abtsberg Riesling Auslese #64. Exhibiting awesome density and ripeness that is crammed into a light to medium-bodied format, this terrific wine should last for two decades. The only issue open to question is the estate's pricing policy. This superb estate can always be counted on to make extremely backward, potentially long-lived, complex wines that are usually among the most classic expressions of German Riesling. Importers: Vintage Wine Cellars, Niles, IL and Chapin Cellars, Ltd., Virginia Beach, VA.
