Tasting notes
Wonderfully brilliant fruit. Really opulent, spreading start and then tightens up to a super-refreshing, zesty finish. Very mineral rather than fruity – although there is a suggestion of blackcurrant leaves too. I'm going to serve it as an aperitif and it should really do the trick. (JR)

This Qualitätswein is coming along nicely. The fruit is wonderfully bright and sharply etched and bursts out of the glass. The wine is dry, went beautifully with an array of vegetable-based dishes, including asparagus. I'd say it's at is peak now. (JR)
The 2012 Saar Riesling has a very clear and greenish nose with lime confit and gooseberry aromas. Full-bodied and elegant, firmly structured, slightly sweet and with a rich core. A little bit astringent at the moment and with irritating greenish notes.
Super-pale straw. Nose is not at all obviously fruit but rather mineral yet extremely intense and pungent. This could already be enjoyed. Is it the extra extract he manages to put into the wine or the age of the vine? A little chewy on the end but so dense and beautifully balanced on the palate already. VGV (JR)
