Tasting notes
The medium to dark ruby-colored 1997 Mazis-Chambertin, displays licorice, cassis, and freshly laid road tar aromas. It is fresh, chewy, thick, and offers candied red and blackberry flavors in its medium to full-bodied, and somewhat alcoholic personality. If this wine's astonishingly rich fruit continues to cover the alcohol, it will ultimately merit a higher score. Drink it between 2002-2010+. Importer: ???????????

Bright, full ruby. Crystallized black raspberry, animal fur and coffee. Creamy old-viney sweetness in the mouth; notes of leather and minerals and a soupcon of cooked berries. Has a distinctly liquoreux aspect; just short of over the top. Finishes with a flavor of roast coffee.
