Tasting notes
Deep ruby. Vibrant, racy raspberry and redcurrant aromas are dusted by a talc-like quality, with pungent violet and licorice notes emerging with air. Round, supple and quite sweet, with ripe red fruit flavors and a deeper cherry note. Very suave on the finish, the tannins enrobed by the sheer mass of luscious fruit.

Inky ruby. Powerful raspberry and boysenberry aromas are complicated by fresh violet and dusty minerals, plus a late-arriving cola quality. Pliant red and dark berry preserve flavors offer impressive depth and concentration, with gentle tannins adding structure and shape. This really clings to the palate on the finish, with the dark berry flavors echoing.
Opaque ruby. Rich, powerful dark berry and kirsch on the nose, with deep smoked meat and licorice accents. Lush, weighty and thick, showing impressively concentrated blackberry and blackcurrant flavors and solid but harmonious tannins. The finish builds and expands, picking up exotic, smoky tones and a note of tar. This is as rich a version of Chaillot as I've tasted.
About the producer

Allemand’s wines set the benchmark for Cornas: expressive Syrahs crafted with uncompromising traditional methods and released in tiny quantities. From the 1980s, he revived abandoned vineyards on Cornas’s steep granite slopes, building his domaine without inherited land or financial support.
