Score 91/100 · Drink 1995-2010, Robert Parker, Jan 1997
The 1994 Les Chaillots is a superb Cornas, with an opaque black/purple color, and a pure, sweet nose of cassis, herbs, minerals, and roasted meats. Full-bodied, with superb definition and richness, this is a large-scaled, low-acid Cornas that should be approachable young yet keep for 15 + years. Last tasted 6/95.

About the producer

Thierry Allemand
Allemand’s wines set the benchmark for Cornas: expressive Syrahs crafted with uncompromising traditional methods and released in tiny quantities. From the 1980s, he revived abandoned vineyards on Cornas’s steep granite slopes, building his domaine without inherited land or financial support.
