(chardonnay; 100% fermented and aged in oak): Pineapple, butterscotch and vanilla on the musky nose. Juicy, spicy and firm, with an element of resiny oak and refreshing acidity. A polite, clean chardonnay with a firm, spicy finish. Giacomo Conterno described 2010 as "a classic, fresh year for chardonnay," adding that brother Stefano did a lot of batonnage, stirring the lees every two weeks. This should evolve gracefully over the next five to eight years.
