Trapet's 2011 Marsannay (from Les Grasses Têtes) is pointed, expressive and vibrant on the palate, with transparent fruit and terrific overall balance.

Medium red. Fresh aromas of cherry and raspberry. On the lean side, conveying a sweet/tart red fruit character. Finishes with slightly drying tannins and a hint of greenness. A bit acid for its fruit.

A fresh, bright and distinctly earthy nose of cool red pinot fruit leads to detailed and punchy middle weight flavors that possess a firm, dusty and mildly rustic finish with sufficient depth and length to be interesting. Tasted: Jan 14, 2013. Drink: 2016+
