Knockout nose combines pineapple, smoke, violet and menthol. Tightly wound and densely packed, with superb intensity to the pineapple, lemon and powdered stone flavors. Wonderfully silky and fine-grained wine with racy acidity providing precision and detail. Really saturates every millimeter of the palate and excites the taste buds. This is just 12.8% alcohol, but who needs more?
Bright, pale color. Cool, perfumed aromas of minerals, lime and crushed stone. Then sweet but racy and spicy, combining a thickness of texture with a weightless quality. This has an element of precision that reminds me of a Chevalier-Montrachet. Beautifully balanced wine with lovely palate presence and length.

About the producer
Volnay’s Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic in the Côte d’Or. Founded in 1730, the property remains family-owned and run, with Etienne de Montille – the ninth generation – at the helm today.
