Score 94/100 · David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Dec 2009

The de Montille 2007 Puligny-Montrachet Caillerets delivers a haunting nose of white peach, fresh lemon, honeysuckle, and narcissus. Alive with energy and citric brightness yet also subtly creamy in texture and saturating the palate with liquid flowers and almond paste, it finishes with cut, clarity, refreshment, vibratory intensity, and a wealth of ineffable mineral nuances. This is both ultra-Caillerets and ultra-2007, and that is an impressive combination likely to resonate even a decade from now. Various importers, including Beaune Imports, Berkeley, CA; tel. Knockout nose combines pineapple, smoke, violet and menthol. Tightly wound and densely packed, with superb intensity to the pineapple, lemon and powdered stone flavors. Wonderfully silky and fine-grained wine with racy acidity providing precision and detail. Really saturates every millimeter of the palate and excites the taste buds. This is just 12.8% alcohol, but who needs more?

Bright, pale color. Cool, perfumed aromas of minerals, lime and crushed stone. Then sweet but racy and spicy, combining a thickness of texture with a weightless quality. This has an element of precision that reminds me of a Chevalier-Montrachet. Beautifully balanced wine with lovely palate presence and length.
