The 2010 Meursault Gouttes d'Or 1er Cru has a rather mushroomy bouquet that appears to show its age more than its peers. That said, I find some improvement with aeration, and it eventually reveals attractive white peach, nectarine and jasmine aromas. The palate is well balanced with bitter lemon and grass clippings on the entry. Quite linear and slightly austere in style. I would just like more Meursault personality to appear on the finish. Tasted at Sarah Marsh’s 2010 white burgundy tasting in London.

Deep straw. Now this has both fruit and nerve on the nose! Racy but not skinny. The lightest hint of struck match but not to excess. A very good drink for now. (JR)
