Gold. Real personality. A bit of oak and a bit of sulfides but there is fruit here that sparkles and some lemon cream character that distinguishes it from an oaked Chardonnay from anyway. Some savour and attack. Grainy texture. Density and life. Still very slightly chewy. Good acidity – a green streak, tant mieux. (JR)

The 2003 Meursault Goutte d’Or (white) sports a nose of grilled minerals. On the palate, this sappy effort offers a light to medium-bodied personality filled with satiny waves of minerals as well as pears. Its finish is long, filled with fruit, and silky. It should be consumed over the next 4 years. Maison Louis Latour has numerous importers across the United States.

About the producer
The Latour family has been growing vines in Burgundy since at least 1731. Their négociant business – today one of the region’s biggest names – was founded in 1797. Still family-owned today, the company owns 48 hectares of vines, 27 of which are Grand Cru, as well as its own cooperage.
