What a fabulous Meursault from the hand of Lalou Bize-Leroy! The 1999 Meursault Goutte d’Or has a delicate, refined bouquet with citrus peel, limestone and traces of apricot that blossom in the glass, while upholding an ethereal level of delineation and focus. The palate is beautifully balanced with hints of wild honey counterbalancing the racy citrus core of fruit. It shimmers with glee, poised and balletic on the finish that possesses electrifying tension. Seriously, you would be hard pressed to find a Goutte d’Or better than this. Drink now-2020+. Tasted November 2013.
