Tasting notes
(tasted from tank) Exotic aromas of apricot and honey. Strong, generous, slightly aggressive fruit given shape by harmonious acids and solid minerality. Lafon says he will fine this wine with casein to soften its slightly phenolic finish.

Fine and tense but closed. Like a little tight lily in bud. Some minerality and astringence as though its strings have been pulled very tight indeed. Not at all like its name at present. (JR)
Oily, smoky nose is quite reduced today. Supple, spicy, rich and sweet, with a rather soft impression of acidity. Here the honey and spice flavors come across as distinctly exotic. Seems a tad warm but Lafon points out that this wine is below 13.5% in 2005. Oaky and rich on the back end.
