It had been eight years since I last tasted the 1968 Latour and to be honest, it was never a vintage I hankered to taste again. The nose has dried out a little with vestiges of rustic black fruit with that charcoal note I observed previously. The palate is medium-bodied with dry rustic tannin and a cedar/brown spice finish that feels chaptalized. Not a disaster by any means, but it is a Latour that is going to go nowhere.
