Tasting notes
Awesome aromas of violets, roses, red cherries, and spices are found in the 2000 Romanee-St.-Vivant. Lush, medium-bodied, and velvety-textured, this plump, jammy wine reveals superb depth of fruit. Loads of spice-laden cherries, flowers, and juniper berries are found throughout its concentrated, delineated personality. It is a seductive, refined, and complex offering. Anticipated maturity: now-2012. Importers: A Peter Vezan Selection, Paris fax #011-33-1-42-55-42-93, and also represented by Russell Herman, Berkeley Heights, NJ; tel. (908) 771-9082

Ruby-red. Slightly reduced aromas of cassis, violet, bitter chocolate, espresso, and nutty, spicy oak. Very closed in on itself today, giving a stronger impression of acidity than the Suchots. Subtle hints of minerals and spices. Quite backward for the vintage, with a firm tannic spine.
