Good full medium red. Compelling nose combines smoky, flinty minerality, coffee, crushed stone, cocoa powder and white pepper. Dense but tightly coiled, with racy acidity giving shape and grip to the raspberry, smoke and stone flavors accented by pepper and spices. A wine of noteworthy finesse, best today on the splendid, rising finish.

Good deep ruby-red. Slightly reduced, reticent aromas of cassis and minerals, with a note of cocoa powder emerging with air. Sweet, lush and rich; quite primary but with harmonious acidity. This one struck me as like a larger version of the Beaux-Monts. The tannins are essentially sweet but today they cut off the wine's fruit. One senses that there's a lot more to come. According to Meunier, production of his two grand crus was barely 22 hectoliters per hectare in 2008.
