Pretty wine. Very plummy, with leafy undertones. Medium-bodied, with soft tannins and a medium finish. Slightly hollow center-palate. Best after 2002. – James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2001

Deep ruby. Ripe aromas of cherry, blueberry, smoke and mint. Juicy and fresh, with spicy black- and blueberry flavors and a hint of bitter chocolate. Not especially fleshy, but there good lingering fruit to support the firm tannins.
About the producer

Camensac
A stone’s throw from Saint-Julien, Ch. de Camensac was long underperforming, but – under the ownership of the Merlaut-Villars family – was totally restructured, and quality transformed.
