Score 90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Nov 2013

(aged for one year in oak and bottled in December of 2012): Medium red. Enticing candied perfume to the high-toned aromas of cherry liqueur and orange zest. Fine-grained, sexy and elegant, with penetrating but harmonious acidity giving the wine excellent cut and drawing out its back end. With its serious tannic clout this is hardly an easy-drinking nebbiolo, but it fills the retronasal passages with rose and licorice. Francesco Versio says that 2011 produced warm wines and that this bottling will be ready early.
