Tasting Notes
A sensational wine from this Pessac-Leognan estate, the 2009 possesses notes of charcoal, graphite, roasted herbs, truffles, spice box, and luxurious quantities of black currant and black cherry fruit. Full-bodied, impressively endowed. and well under the radar for most consumers, this outstanding wine is a sleeper of the vintage and well worth buying. It should drink well for 15 or more years. Dense red, leafy blackcurrant fruit, good density and good tannins, needs to soften the rather raw tannins. Drink 2015-20.
Finely dusty cassis. Very slightly herbaceous but smells refined, then spreading savoury flavours on the palate. Fresh finish. (JH) Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com
Blackberry and mineral on the nose, with dried flowers. Full-bodied, with very silky tannins and a long finish. This is racy and cool
