Score 86/100 · Drink 2005-2008, Robert Parker, Oct 2005

The 2002 Shiraz Obsidian’s earthy/loamy soil and red fruit-tinged aromas are followed by a medium-bodied Shiraz with raspberry and black cherry fruit, a nice texture, and a clean, fresh finish. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Importer: Grape Expectations Wine Imports, Raleigh, NC; tel. (919) 781-1655

Medium ruby. Fruit-driven shiraz aromas of cassis, plum, blackberry and cherry, with a hint of dark chocolate. Round and plump, with creamy dark berry and cherry flavors accented by sexy oak spices. The moderately tannic finish offers notes of cumin and coriander alongside the juicy berry flavors. .
