Score 88/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Red-ruby. Crushed currant and raspberry and tarry oak on the nose, along with an herbal nuance. Then rich, sweet and expansive in the mouth, despite a hint of greenness. Finishes ripely tannic and long, with a note of green olive. This is essentially Mauro's crianza, which in '99 was bottled with the slightly adjusted appellation Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y Leon.
