Tasting notes
Good deep red. Deep smoky, coconutty oak initially hides the redcurrant aroma underneath. Big, rich and sweet, with a captivating Vosne-like floral character and firm minerality giving shape to the chewy, extract-rich middle palate. As seamless as this is there's plenty of acidity underneath. Finishes very long and perfumed, with suave tannins. With 24 hours in the recorked bottle, more black fruits and violet emerged to stand up to the wine's strong oak component.

Red-ruby. Brooding aromas of blackberry, blueberry, cassis, violet and crushed stone. Suave on entry, then densely packed yet light on its feet, with superb acidity making for almost painful intensity of flavor. This and the last couple of wines really showcase their terroir more than they do the 2006 vintage. Finishes with terrific structure and lift, the spicy finishing flavors saturating the entire palate.
