Predominantly oaky nose – bags of spice, even a hint of curry. Same oaky palate with fruit in the middle but it tails off a bit at the end so the alcohol sticks out slightly and it finishes a bit dry.  (JH)

Soft and opulent, with impeccable purity, a rich, lush, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and copious quantities of sweet cherry and cassis fruit, licorice, earth, and subtle dried herb notes, this hedonistic St.-Emilion will offer lovely drinking over the next 10-12 years.

Quite deep crimson but not an exaggerated purple. Sweet, open, very slightly cheesey nose. Round and supple, kept lively – rather than throttled – by the tannins. Thick yet lively. (JR)
